Woman at the Well

  1. See John chapter 4...this woman was one of shame...there was nothing about her that warren ted that people should like or respect her in any way. She was immoral on many counts. I'm sure she was filled with much pain and regret. And yet Jesus chose to talk to her. He talked to her specifically and directly. He didn't just say a couple of words and walk away, He showed Himself to her in love. He showed her that He knew her. He knew everything that she had ever done...He knew, more than anyone else, her shame. And He loved her in the midst of it and told her that He was the Savior who could save HER...a woman so dirty and broken by choices and circumstances, He could redeem her. She got it...she understood it...and we know that she did because it changed her life in such a profound way that she just had to go and tell everyone in town about Jesus. Wow...Jesus knew her and He loved her. He knows you, too, and He loves you deeply. No depth of shame, nothing past present or future can change the way God sees you.
