It's been raining a lot the last few days. Add a little thunder and lightning, and you have a good picture of last night. And I felt the same way inside my heart as well. Then, when I didn't know what in the world to do, I started to dance. Now, I'm a terrible dancer. Really I am! But sometimes, when no one is watching, it's a great way to get out frustration and remember that God is good and God is beauty. It lightened the wait hanging over my head, but as soon as I stopped dancing, it seemed to crash right back down. This morning wasn't a whole lot better. But this afternoon...well, God's working on my perspective, my attitude. I was teaching some children this morning and I said to one little boy, "You don't have to do this. But that attitude is not ok. You can ask me to let you skip this activity if you want, but you may not pout and complain." God seems to tell me that sometimes, reminding me all the while that He is good, trustworthy, and praiseworthy. Ephesians 6:13 states, "Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground,
and after you have done everything, to stand." I never really noticed the last part. But then, one day, my sister mentioned it to me. She said that sometimes all we can do is stand, and that's enough. I can relate. Ever felt like you couldn't lift your hand to put any armor on even if you wanted to? Well, then, just stand. If you've already fallen, than ask your buddy to pick you up and support you in the standing position instead of the staying in the mud. Just stand. It reminds me of one of my favorite songs by Superchick called "Stand in the rain."
"She never slows down.
She doesn't know why but she knows that when she's all alone,
feels like its all coming down
She won't turn around
The shadows are long and she fears if she cries that first tear,
the tears will not stop raining down
She won't make a sound
Alone in this fight with herself and the fears whispering
if she stands she'll fall down
She wants to be found
The only way out is through everything she's running from
wants to give up and lie down.
So stand in the rain
Stand your ground
Stand up when it's all crashing down
You stand through the pain
You won't drown
And one day, whats lost can be found
You stand in the rain"
God bless you and may you stand.:-)
